Cererer at Thaci in The Hague- hopes the verdict will be uncoupled by millions paid by Europeans for Special

American analyst Daniel Serwer has indicated that he visited The Hague detention centre, former Kosovo president Hashim Thaci, yesterday. Serwer on his platform has said that through this visit he wanted to renew his old friendship while recalling the disputes he had had with Thaci shortly before the former Kosovo president voluntarily went to The Hague.
I also wanted to better understand the reality behind the Kosovo Special Chambers Court that is conducting its trial. So I also met with the court spokesman Michael Doyle. I know Michael from his great service with Hi Rep Inzko in Bosnia”, he wrote Serwer.
As for Thaci's conversations, Serwer said he'd share details, since his conversations were always private.
“If you are looking for interesting information on what Hashim told me, don't read further. Our conversations have always been private in the past, and so will it. Except for the prison official who sat down to listen to the rules. I will respect the privacy of what Hashim said. But he always respected my right to say what I want in public. I'm sure he'll still do it”, Serwer wrote.
The American professor has expressed concern about his long-standing detention.
Fourth, and my main complaint today, is the ridiculous time Hashim and his friends have been held in custody, and now during the trial, in custody. Innocent until proven guilty should not be an empty slogan. These people resigned and went to The Hague voluntarily, something their opponents in Serbia did not do. How do you justify five years in prison (a maximum maximum security prison by my personal observations) before you find out if someone was guilty?
The answer is concern about witness intimidation or manipulation, which has been a problem according to the court. I don't believe that as an explanation enough. The court should have released these men a long time ago. None of them are running to hide. All could have been monitored without detention at The Hague”, he has declared.
The American analyst, among other things, writes that “does not know whether these KLA leaders are guilty or innocent of the charges. I haven't read all the transcripts of the trial. Even if I had read, the responsibility is to decide, not mine. I just hope that the decision will be kept isolated from the expectations of European governments that they must receive several sentences for hundreds of millions of euros that have invested in this” effort.
Serwer has also indicated an event when he met with Hashim Thaci in the US in 1999.
“Even a story about Hashim, a story so old that the American government would have declassified him already. I found myself 26 years ago in Lansdowne with him and one of the KLA commanders this morning. I tried to have a conversation by noting that it must be strange for them to be at this luxury resort in Virginia, when only a few weeks ago they fought in the mountains of Kosovo. Hashimi looked at the KLA commander with him, who frowned, turned to me and said: “I have never been a real fighter. I was a political spokesman.” I think Hashim at that moment was under a lot of pressure to tell me the truth”, Serwer wrote.
