Large German newspaper “Bild” has reported that Foda wants to convince Gashi to join Kosovo.
Kosovo's “Coach Franco Foda travelled to Munich for talks and now wants to persuade Gashi to switch to the team representatives of adults as soon as possible. Kosovo, which twice defeated Sweden in World Cup qualifications, currently ranks second after Switzerland and is likely to qualify in the 2026” World Cup, writes “Bild” on Tuesday.
This paper has also reported that many clubs have expressed interest in Yll Gashi.
Gashi is 17-year-old and plays as a striker. He joined Bayerni from Berlin's Hertha in September 2022 at the age of 14 for 90 thousand euros. It has shown good presentations for U17 and U19 teams, with 39 goals and 13 assistings in 54 matches.
Albania also wants Gashi. Albanian Football Federation President Armand Duka was also in Munich for talks. Since then both federations have been in constant contact with Gashi”, the German newspaper's writing continues.
Gashi has a goal in 15 matches for Germany U17, while scoring three goals for Germany U16.
Kosovo Football Federation Chairman Agim Ademi has confirmed his interest in Gashi.
“Talet Yll Gashi is already proven as a player, very perspective and very popular. Normally, we have been in contact with his father for a long time. Coach Foda is in touch with the player. Of course, the wish is great for him to be part of our FFK and national project. We're in touch and we welcome our stardaran”, Ademi said on Tuesday.
Kosovo already has numerous elections in the attack. The main attacker is Vedat Muriqi, and noble Aslan and Albion Candman are also playing a key role.
Gashi, who moved to Munich with families in 2022, hopes to make the transition to Bayern's first team.
