The Constitutional Court in Pristina on May 28th 2025 has declared condemnation of Jeton and Nexhat Vlasaliu, condemning them to life in prison for the murder of businessman Bedri Rexhepi, reports “Justice Vowrim”, broadcast Periscope.
The representative of the damaged side of lawyer Dafina Osmani said before Appeals that they have refused complaints of defenders of the accused to answer their complaints within the legal deadline.
In this trial, for the accused, Beton Vlasaliu attorneys are Florent Latifaj and Driton Musliu, meanwhile for accused Nexhat Vlasaliu, Kosovar Kelmendi attorneys and Semedin Piraj.
The Appellate College in this case consists of President Mentor Hajri, referred to Judge Kadrije Goga-Lubishan and member Gevdet Abazi.
Because the damaged side has not accepted the defendants' defense complaints, today's session failed and the next was scheduled for November.
According to the Constitutional Prosecutor's Act in Pristina, Jeton and Nexhat Vlasaliu are charged with criminal acts “heavy murder”, from Article 173, paragraph 1.6 and 1.4 concerning Article 31 of the Kosovo Republic's Penal Code (KPRK).
The indictment reportedly said that from January 9th, 2021 to April 8, 2021, defendants Vlasaliu in co-ordination following the preliminary agreement, had begun planning to deprive of life to hurt Bedri Rexhepi, with the goal of gaining rich benefits.
The same, they're also charged with criminal work “The fate of graves or corpses”, by Article 413, paragraph 2 related to KPRK Article 31.
