Albania's Assembly Dismiss DP's call for resolution on Kosovo genocide

During the plenary session held Thursday, Albania's Assembly did not approve the request submitted by the Democratic Party for a resolution condemning the Serbian genocide in Kosovo. The voting details for this request were not made public, but resulted in its collapse, reports “RTSH” DP leader Sali Berisha said Albania should [...]
DP leader Sali Berisha said Albania should immediately have adopted the Kosovo resolution for recognising the Serbian genocide.
“During 1998-1999, the Serb barbarian forces committed in Kosovo the bastard against the vulnerable population. Those who have violated the blood, their sacrifice of this terrible genocide, are not people, not Albanians anymore. They're at the level of human primitives, that of the animal, but you can't present yourself. We should immediately adopt Kosovo's resolution of genocide, to deny genocide in Kosovo means to be a human, national being without a social, human conscience. This is out of any kind of concept”, Berisha said.
Berisha stressed that the Serbian genocide should be reacted with national unity, while accusing the SP of violating this genocide because, according to him, Rama “is a Vucicqi servant”.
“A can kick off this genocide data, do so because your leader is a Vuciki servant. You have to react to genocide, how you are so insensitive to a more fundamental issue in the human conscience and national conscience”, Berisha said.
For this request by the Democratic Party for a debate on a resolution to recognise the Serbian genocide in Kosovo went on to clash between position and opposition in the Assembly.
Defence Minister Pirro Ving said no one could give the government patriotism lectures for Kosovo, stressing that the prime minister's positions have been clear and publicly articulated even in Belgrade for its recognition.
“You cannot lecture our patriotism for Kosovo. The prime minister has reiterated the demand for Kosovo's recognition in Belgrade, not only after diplomatic arrangements. This government has not only advanced development projects with Kosovo, but has included it within strategic and military regional co-operation. There is no patriotism lesson here, but come to protest tomorrow, unite the powers and be a united nation, because these issues require national unity,” said Weng.
On the other hand, Party deputy “option”, Erald Capri, rejected the minister's statement, accusing the government of lack of coherence in attitudes towards Kosovo. He stressed that Kosovo “deserves another approach and attention from this parliament” and that this issue should not be used for political rhetoric.
“I did not make pathetic patriotism, if we go out for Kosovo and mention Rama in Belgrade, tell me who is responsible for the Balkan Open, who is responsible for warm relations with Belgrade without any results, who is responsible for today's conflict with Kosovo prime minister and at the most difficult moment of intervention in the north, the prime minister was against. Kosovo deserves another approach and attention from this parliament, cannot become political rhetoric. If we want to come to Kosovo by the side where parliament should express itself minimally with a Resolution”, Capri said.
While Socialist MP Ulyssy Manja has responded to the Parliament's speech, the DP's motion for debate on the recognition of Serbian genocide and the Democrats' accusations of Prime Minister Rama's positions on Kosovo, claiming to have maintained warm relations with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
Manja said Prime Minister Edi Rama is an excellent lawyer of the Kosovo issue, while adding that he has maintained strong diplomatic positions on the tables where European and international politics become.
I would beg you not to put us into north-south sensitivities, Kosovo is an integral part of every Albanian and every human having Albanian blood. As for Eddie Rama, he does not need a lawyer, but in the quality of his former prime minister, I have had the fortune to accompany him on some official visits to Europe and publicly say he is an excellent lawyer of the Kosovo issue. With strong diplomatic stances, on the table where European and international politics for Kosovo are actually becoming a force for strong recognition of Kosovo's independence by 5 EU nations still refusing to recognise Kosovo”, Manja said.
He said the Socialist deputies would be present at tomorrow's (October 17th) protest in support of the KLA, not as politicians, but as citizens.
