The 33-year-old who is now captain of Basel returned to the nuclear championship in August last year, when he was transferred from Chicago Fire of the US MLS league.
Basel after 20 games played has the best attack with 46 goals accomplished in all.
Shaqiri has contributed eight goals of 11 assets in all current edition competitions for Basel.
In the same period in the championship last year, Basel had scored only 24 goals. By the end of the edition, it had reached the rate of 45 goals achieved.
Thus, the form of the large helvetic team has had significant growth.
Lugano is in first place in the 35-point Swiss championship, one more than Basel.
Basel plays the next match on his trip to Zurich on February 2nd.
