Meta bans RT and several other Russian media

According to Meta, these media have used fraudulent tactics to conduct hidden internet influence operations.

This ban represents the world's largest social media company's response against Russian state media.

So far, it has taken more limited steps, such as blocking their advertising.

After careful review, we have expanded measures against Russian state media. Rosiya Segodnya, RT and other entities are now banned in our applications worldwide”, Meta said.

According to her, implementation of the ban will begin during the coming days.

Besides Facebook, Meta also owns the Instagram, Whatsap and Threeads.
