At the press conference following the government's meeting Wednesday, Macedonia has said that payments from the second tranche are expected to be carried out by the end of the year.
“In March of this year, we have executed the first tranche, and by the end of the year we will execute the second tranche. We are on the right track to have this system at the right time”, he said.
On January 11th, the US State Department accepted the sale for Kosovo of 246 missiles “Javelin” worth about $75m. The request was submitted to the American Congress, which approved the purchase in February of this year.
The US State Department has declared that selling weapons to Kosovo supports US foreign policy and national security goals.
The rocket system, which is automatically directed and reaches a distance of up to 4,000 meters, was known in Ukraine's defence fight against Russia.
