Lajcak will not become ambassador to Switzerland due to unforeseen developments

Miroslav Lajcak, the EU's special emissary for Kosovo dialogue, Serbia, will not be named ambassador to Switzerland and Lientstein.
That is how the European Union Delegation to Bern, Switzerland, announced, adding that the reason is unforeseen developments.
“Due to unexpected developments, Ambassador-designate for Switzerland and Liechtenstein Miroslav Lajcak will eventually not take office in Bern. Consequently, the mandate of the current ambassador, Petros Mavromichalis, has lasted until August 31st 2025”, said the delegation notification.
Also, recently the EU's special minister for the Kosovo dialogue, Serbia, Lajcak has extended the mandate until January next year at the start of talks between two countries, which would then be named ambassador to Switzerland.
