KSF helicopter from 2025, says Macedonia

Transition of the Army Security Force is in phase two and 2025 The KSF will be made with helicopters, Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia has announced.

“In the sixth year, we are on a comprehensive transition plan, or in the second phase because the comprehensive KSF transition plan, also drafted in co-operation with the US, is divided into three phases. The first phase has been from 2019 to 2022, where the main focus of the first phase has been to compile all necessary doctrine, documentation necessary for the functioning of the Kosovo Ministry of Defence and Security Force, adoption of KSF training programmes.”, he told Online Economy.

“As well as drafting requests for weapons systems and other equipment for KSF needs. We are currently in the second phase of transition, The UK is supporting the KSF with all aspects of achieving the goals of the second phase of transition. And this phase is expected to peak with the wave of three KSF infantry regiments which will then be ready to realise their key task, which is to protect our country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, to be long-term to carry out war operations focused on defence, offensive and stability.”, Macedonia said.

“Based on the comprehensive transition plan, it is a priority for the KSF to have the fleet of helicopters. This fleet will be deployed in the third phase of the training, meaning from 2025 to 2028. We will be supplied with helicopters in order to complete even this operational aspect of KSF. Normally we are constantly with our partners, in particular with the United States, generating helicopter purchase options. These helicopters will be multifunctional that, in addition to transportation support duties for our troops, they will also have the opportunity to perform medical evacuation operations, but other operations for civil authority support.”, he said.
