Thursday's the time. Granit Jaka will be back at the Grand Champions League scene. The last time Bayer Leverkusen's strategist played in Champions was in the 2016/17 edition. It was his first edition of seven totals, to Arsenal.
After that edition, Switzerland's captain managed to qualify with Arsenal in Champions only for the 2023/2024 edition. But he left London before that edition began, to make history with Bayer Leverkusen.
With Leverkusen, 31-year-old Jaka on Thursday faces Holland's champion Feeniord at the “De Kuip” stadium in Rotterdam. The match starts at 18:45.
Jaka can't wait for the match. But he and the others at Leverkusen expect hard fights.
We're looking forward to facing an opponent who won't give us anything. It will be the extraordinary atmosphere in Rotterdam”, but Jaka is aware, although there is no personal experience in “De Kuip”.
I've never played in Feeniord, but of course I've heard things from friends who played there. The atmosphere is expected to be brutal”, Leverkusen midfield leader has said.
