Cassanoff, who has been on duty since mid-July, when replaced Gabriel Escobarin, spoke on a panel of the “Pupin” held in Washington.
Serbia's “citizens are sceptical because of previous US approach. We want to deepen co-operation with Serbia, the Western Balkans and the Euro-Atlantic zone. There are alliances in the Western Balkans that the US supports and Serbia leads them”, he said, broadcast Clankosova. tv
As one of the challenges in the coming period, Kasanoff cited Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
“We want to see progress there. The US wants to co-operate with Kosovo and Serbia to see how progress can be made that will also contribute to the region. There are two kinds of prospects for relations between the Balkans and the US. One is based on narrative and the other on facts”, he points out, among other things, the Voice of America in the Serbian language reports.
