Interior Affairs Minister Xhelal Svecla has indicated that the border points in Brnjak and Merdara have been opened after closing for circulation yesterday.
After receiving reports that blockades created by masked extremists that were located yesterday on Serbia's territory and seeing there is no obstacle to circulation from and towards border points of the Republic of Kosovo, we made the decision to open the Merdar and Brnjak border crossings.
Order and law, peace and security, far and wide on every border of our Republic” wrote Svecla on Facebook.
These two border crossings between Kosovo and Serbia yesterday were blocked by dozens of Serbs, who barricaded the borders on the Serbian side, as a sign of protest for Kosovo Police Action that led to the closure of five objects that illegally operated as parallel Serb municipalities.
During yesterday's day the situation was calm at the border belt on the part of Kosovo, except for one family that was forced back to Brnjak, which the same was travelling towards Germany.
