At 6:00, Serbs begin blocking border with Kosovo

As Serbian media guards report, the blockade will be organised by local citizens' associations from Kosovo and that four of the five border crossings from the direction of central Serbia and Montenegro will be blocked.

“Blokada will begin at 6600 and will last until Kosovo police forces withdraw from northern Kosovo. We also demand that KFOR take over northern Kosovo”, he said.

According to him, blockades will last until citizens' demands are met.

“We will block the Brnjak, Jarinje and Merdar crossings on the part of central Serbia, and the Tower crossing on Montenegro's Peja-Rozhaj Street. Conchul Pass won't be blocked for now. We will allow only hospital vehicles, as well as all vehicles and other passengers with Serbian documents. If Serbian documents are not valid in Kosovo, then Kosovo documents cannot be valid either in central Serbia”, Gutervic said, adding that there will be at least 400 people in the blockade at every crossing.

Because of this, institutions in Kosovo have called on citizens to avoid crossing from Serbia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked citizens to avoid transit through border crossings with Serbia.

The National Border Management Centre has called on Thursday for the border not to be crossed even by Montenegro, Tower.

All citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and members of the exile who plan to cross the Transit across Serbia's territory and at the Tower border crossing (Montenegro) are not allowed to avoid all entrances and exits to border crossings between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, as well as with the border crossing with Montenegro”, the announcement said.
