Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague today will continue the trial process against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.
In The Hague today, the next specialised Prosecutor's Office witness is expected to continue. This witness is scheduled to testify publicly. On 21 August, the witness to the SPS was completed by the figure W03871.
According to the Specialised Chambers Calendar, the trial “Thaci and others” will follow Monday on Thursday. Three hearings were held last week after the rest of the court was restored. In September, 13 sessions are expected.
We remember that Kosovo's Specialised Chambers Administrator at The Hague last week has made a decision on the appointment of Rodney Dixon as Kadri Wessel's new defence lawyer. Dixon's appointment comes after Wessel and lawyer Ben Emmerson have irrevocably cut off their client-avict relationship.
By contrast, the court case -- hahim Thaci and others -- began on April 3, 2023 with the opening statements of the Specialised Prosecutor and the representative of the victims, followed by defence teams on April 4th and April 5, 2023.
We remember that the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points on charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.
