Miftarian: Instead of accusing you, the VV seek responsibility from institutions it owns

Kosovo Institute for Justice Director Ehat Miftaraj considers the ruling party's accusations in the direction of justice and security institutions unacceptable for failing to implement the death of former VV activist Astrit Dehari, though he acknowledges that the highest prosecution institution has failed to handle the case properly. [...]
For allegations that the Vetevendosje Movement made in the direction of AKI, Kosovo Police Special Prosecutor Miftaraj has said that initially this party should give responsibility for some cases that have occurred in institutions led by the VV. An example takes the disappearance of Astrit Dehar samples and burns at the Institute of Legal Medicine.
The “is not acceptable and very primitive approach to see representatives of a ruling party exploiting the Special Prosecutor's spaces to accuse the same and file a series of charges against a large number of institutions. It is a fact that the Special Prosecutor has failed to handle the Dehar case independently professionally and within a reasonable timeline, is the time when this prosecutor has to give an epilog this case so that all the circumstances of how this case took place” are explained.
Miftaraj has said the Vetevendosje Movement has all state mechanisms in its hands, including AKI and the Kosovo Police. Hence, he has said that the leaders of these institutions should be asked to be responsible.
The fact that today the director of AKI is guided by a person appointed by Prime Minister Kurti and President Osmani, instead of appearing and making public appearances, should manipulate measures in the case of Dehari, should be held accountable by the AKI director himself if persons who are at least suspected of being ascribed by the ruling party have been involved in the Dehari case. It would have to happen with the Kosovo Police, where there is a director who has been appointed by the Kurti government itself, or even with the Correcting Service managed by the Ministry of Justice. The LVV yesterday had many self-containing questions, decasters being led by Vetevendosje ministers and instead of responding, started with the analysis of environmental contamination in our society by pressing charges or by such scandals which are mostly damaging the justice system, citizens' trust, and rehabilitation of citizens who are being bombarded on a daily basis with such news”, Miftaj said further.
Miftaraj has said the government led by Albin Kurti has failed to transform the prosecutorial system into the country and destroy as the groups within this system say.
“We are talking about a prosecutorial system that has no will to elect the head prosecutor of state, constitutional duty, law enforcement and the request of international partners and NGOs. We've been waiting for Government through the mechanisms that are in its power, whether through reform in justice to reform the Prosecutorial System and destroy these groups within this system that's captured the system in the last 10 years. Little is the hope that the Prosecutorial System will reflect with the current management or with the chief prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor, who has no will or knowledge and professionalism to exercise his competencies under the Constitution and Law”, Miftaraj said. /eo
