“Based in its current security analyses, the Lufthansa Group has restored its services to the Middle East”, the company said through a statement published on August 7th.
All flights to Amman, Beirut, Tehran and Tel Aviv have been suspended until and including August 13th”.
Lufthansa said passengers could change the date of tickets they have bought or canceled without additional costs.
Tensions in the Middle East have increased due to the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, the Palestinian group declared terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union.
Tensions have escalated even more after the murder in Tehran of Hamas' political chief, Ismail Haniyeh, has increased tensions on July 31st.
Iran has blamed Israel, but Israel has not claimed responsibility for the murder. Tehran has pledged to retaliate, while experts have warned that an Iranian response could involve the entire Middle East in war. / REL/
