Harris made comments in her first interview on a major television network since the Democrats named her a candidate for president.
“I think that the most important and significant aspect of my perspective and policy decisions is that my principles have not changed”, she told CNN journalist Dana Basaj during the interview, part of which was published before it was transmitted full at 9: 00 a.m., with Washington's local watch.
Harris has been positioned more towards the headquarters on several issues since he ran for presidents in 2020.
It has hardened its stance on immigration along the southern US border with Mexico. It is also already against the ban on drilling, on oil extraction, thanks to which many people in Pennsylvania -- one of the few states -- will be crucial in determining the outcome of the elections.
My choices about what we have to do to secure our border have not changed. I served two mandates as the general prosecutor of California prosecuting transnational criminal organisations, violators of American laws, who have carried out illegal arms, drugs and human beings across our border, and my principles have not changed”, she said.
Harris ' interview was intended to show that she possessed all the cases. Some critics suggest it may be less refined in environments where there is no written speech, following a series of powerful campaign speeches since it took over the Democrats' staff for the White House competition.
Harris, together with the democratic candidate for vice president, the governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, also discussed the possibility of introducing a republican into her possible cabinet, saying she wanted a variety of opinions.
I think it's important to have some of the most important decisions on the table, people with different views and experiences. And I think it would be good for the American public to have a member in my cabinet who was a Republican”, she said.
