The European Union said the Council is continuing discussions about the high representative's report, Josep Borrell, on removing measures against Kosovo, set for more than a year.
As far as it's possible to increase these measures, like The EU warned, following the government's recent actions in the north, EU spokesman Peter Stano did not give concrete answers, but told RTV21 that they continue to ask Kosovo authorities to refrain from unilateral and uncoordinated steps that could further increase tensions, expecting Kosovo to address and resolve open issues in the EU-launched dialogue.
“Dictions of EU member states on the Council for the High Representative's report on meeting EU requirements from Kosovo are continuing. They are internal and confidential. The EU and its member states continue to urge the Kosovo authorities to refrain from uncoordinated and unilateral steps that could further increase tensions, and we expect Kosovo to address and resolve open issues in EU facilitated Dialogue”, Stano told RTV21.
Measures against Kosovo were put behind tensions in the northern part of Kosovo at a time when elected Albanian mayors in four municipalities in the north were sent with the support of Kosovo police in their offices. At least 90 members of NATO peacekeeping force were injured in a clash with Serb protesters
