According to the Court, this will not cause delays in the judicial process.
On August 21, 2024, the Judicial Chamber in the Thaci case and others approved the completion of Kadri Veselin's legal representation by defender Ben Emerson. Wessel and Emerson agreed with this decision, allowing the Judicial Chamber to approve the outcome of legal representation for good reason. Also, the Judicial Chamber was convinced that it would ensure the continuation of Veselin's representation, and that the change of the chief defender would not cause delays in the trial process”, the Special Report said.
The decision will reportedly enter into force after the new prime minister is appointed and the administrator of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers is invited to take all necessary measures as soon as possible.
