Elez has said that after 30 August, each political subject that has declared a coalition by this date will be tasked with competing alone in the February 9th elections.
“According to the law on general elections, political parties that are registered in the CEC and who want to participate in the elections in February 2025 through the coalition should report the CEC, respectively, the Office for Recording, Certificate and Financial Control of political subjects like dunes to participate in these elections. The deadline to make this announcement is August 30th, so by this time all political parties must report to the CEC that in the February 9th elections, they will participate through coalition”, Elesi has said.
The CEC spokesman has declared that by Monday, they have not accepted any coalition.
The “Coalation can be built by at least two political parties, and the political party cannot withdraw from the coalition once it is certified until the outcome of the elections is certified by the CEC. Also, the political party, which is a coalition member, cannot participate as a member in another coalition -- that is, other parties, or even as separate parties in the election process. Until these moments we speak in the CEC, we have not received any announcements on the part of political parties that they will seek confirmation in the elections through the coalition. The deadline to make this statement is August 30th”, he has said.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has set February 9th 2025 as the date of general elections. The decision comes after the meeting, where the president heard all parties.
