AIP has reported that it has received complaints from citizens that CRU “Pristina” has distributed monthly bills exposing personal data.
“The Agency for Information and Private (AIP) has accepted complaints from citizens (the data content) who have reported that the Regional Water Company “Pristina” has made the distribution of monthly bills for water spending by exposing the consumer's personal data to the approach of unauthorized body”, the agency reported.
After reviewing the complaints, AIK has found that KRU “Prishtina” has failed to undertake appropriate security measures in processing personal data while distributing bills to citizens.
“The Agency for Information and Privateship calls on all controllers (public and private) to make the processing of personal data legally, on the contrary, the Agency for Information and Privateness, on the basis of legal competencies is obliged to undertake the necessary actions and measures for not complying with the Law for Protection of Personal Data”, it says.
