At the Infectious Clinic of the University Hospital Service of Kosovo, 7 patients with Ovid 19 are currently hospitalised. Of these, 3 patients are in oxygen therapy, while one of them is being treated in intensive care.
Arben Visaj, director of the Infectious Clinic, has explained about RTK that Coddy-19 is now a common disease in the country and no longer presents a major emergency.
“Cavid-19 is no longer an emergency situation that requires strict insulating measures. However, cases of sporadics always occur,” said Visaj.
He added that hospitalised patients are mainly elderly and those suffering from other chronic diseases, such as kidney problems, lungs, hearts, or liver disease.
Visaj also predicted an opportunity for a slight increase in the number of affected in the coming days due to population movement and the epidemiological situation in other European countries.
He stressed, however, that a major influx is not expected to exceed the capacities of the Infective Clinic.
In this quiet period of epidemiology, Visaj urged citizens to maintain proper vigilance. If they feel symptoms similar to those of the flu, such as cough, temperature, or nose drain, it is important to avoid frequenting closed areas to avoid spreading the” infection, he stressed.
He recommends that citizens who feel symptoms of Ovid 19 consult with doctors in family medicine centres and, if the situation deteriorates, seek help at the Infectious Clinic.
