Authorities have identified the armed person involved in the attack against former US President Donald Trump. It's about 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed by Secret Service agents at the scene after the shooting.
The FBI mentioned Crooks in a statement early Sunday, identifying him as Bethel resident Park, Pennsylvania, about 35 miles south of Butler, where Trump was holding the rally.
Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022, reports CNN.
He was registered to vote as a republican, according to a list of Pennsylvania voters' databases consistent with the name, age and address of Bethel Park that law forces were looking for and linked to Croux in public data.
This year's presidential election would be the first in which he was old enough to vote.
The Federal Election Commission's data shows that a donor listed as Thomas Croux with the same address gave a 15-dollar democratic-line political action committee called the Progressive Turnout Project in January 2021.
Crook's father, Matthew Crook, told CNN that he was trying to understand “what the hell is going on “, but he would wait until I speak to the forces of the order” before talking about his son.
By the shooting, Donald Trump said he was shot in the upper right ear.
The Secret Service said one person was killed in public and two others were seriously injured.
The agents killed the attacker at the scene.
