Triple homicide session postponed in Glodjan

The proposal for postponement gave the defender of the accused Kastriot Mehmetaj, Kosovar lawyer Kelmendi, saying that a new phase of evidence as hearing defence witnesses is useless to deny the new court directly listening to witnesses.

Such an opinion was shared by defenders of other defendants named Silas Lokay and Flotrent Latifi.

Even prosecutor Sahide Gashi agreed, claiming that information about the court's advancement is true, but she added that the court's president or the judge himself should ask the Kosovo Judicial Council (KGJK) to postpone its progress to the conclusion of this subject, since with the new body everything would start from the beginning.

Prosecutor Gashi also said that the injured, children should not be subjected once again to a experience returned to the critical night, as well as the accused who are found in the detention measure, who, according to her, under these circumstances thinks that to prosecute witnesses would be a kind of torture.

Meanwhile, the defender of the victims Luan Mehmetaj rejected the defence proposal, saying that the judge's progress on another grammatical level is the next unfulfilled time, and that dozens of witnesses have been heard in this trial, and that this witness will be heard today as well.

According to Mehmetaj, the eventual changes of the court meaning his return to zero of the criminal procedure included all other witnesses, so according to him, there is no procedural, grammatical, synthetic sense that this defence proposal is approved.

The defense proposal to postpone this session was rejected by the representative of the injured, lawyer Fjolle Ibrahimi, and others injured in the procedure.

Furthermore, the court following consultation regarding the Kelmendi defense proposal made a decision to approve the proposal to postpone the session, with the argument that the trial is not before completion and that some court review hearings should be available and that in order to implement the principle of judicial examination is reasonable for this session not to be held.
