This annulment of the competition has come as a result of “out of” with this process.

The decision has come as a result of investigations and promotion monitoring in position, sergeant, by the Kosovo Police Inpectorate.

Kosovo police (PK), based on administrative guidelines for promotional procedures for police officials, operating standards procedure, analysis of the needs for personnel promoted under the organisational structure and list of authorised personnel, under which more than 350 positions for the Sergeant's rank have been identified, after a period of over 11 years, with 1202.2024 proclaimed the promotion process for sergeants, key personnel for first-line supervision and service more effective towards citizens.

In connection with this competition, Kosovo police were engaged in preparing and managing the entire process, engaging enough personnel, as well as assigning supervisory commissions of all phases of the promotion process for the Sergeant's rank.
Although the entire process, including written testing, was well prepared and organised, however after expressing some dissatisfaction by a number of candidates in the process,
Kosovo police, based on principles of transparency, ethics, fundamental values, professional integrity and credibility, have engaged police staff in analyzing the process, also included Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK), who has made an extraordinary inspection of this process.
Based on the findings of police staff committed to analysis of the process, as well as the IPK inspection report, it has been estimated that the process has been generally fair and well organised, except for some procedures and technical and administrative issues, for each IPK has made its recommendations.
Therefore, with the aim of eliminating all uncertainty and maintaining the credibility of the process, which could cloud the image of the Kosovo Police, as well as based on IPK recommendations,
Kosovo police make a decision to cancel the promotional competition in the rank sergeant, announced by 12,02.2024.

Kosovo police, based on IPK findings and recommendations, after reviewing the procedures and implementation of IPK changes and recommendations, will begin with all necessary administrative and logistical preparations, so that the promotion process for sergeants can continue as soon as possible.

Kosovo police are transparent, accounting organisation and anything that could damage the reputation or create distrust of police and public partners will work to preserve and further establish the credibility of its officials and the public, providing transparency, monitoring of the process by foreign partners and monitoring of all processes.
