The UN Security Council will meet at a meeting Tuesday to discuss the last two days' attacks in Ukraine, which left at least 36 people killed.
The meeting will be held at the request of Britain, France, Ecuador, Slovenia and the US.
“We will condemn Russia's cowardly attack at the hospital”, said permanent representative of the United Kingdom in the United Nations, Barbara Woodward.
The Ohrid Children's Hospital, the largest object of pediatrics in Ukraine, was attacked late Sunday.
Two grown men were killed in the attack.
Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, said Russia has deliberately attacked the Ohrid Hospital, which he has described as one of the most important hospitals for children in Europe and Ukraine.
“Russia must be held fully responsible for all its crimes. Against people, against children, against humanity in general”, Zelensky said.
It is very important that the world does not remain silent about it now and that all see what Russia is and what it is doing”, he added.
Russia, which has begun its full invasion of Ukraine since February 2022, denies that it targets civilian infrastructure.
Zelensky's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, said at least 36 people have been confirmed killed and 140 injured as a result of Russian missile attacks across Ukraine on Monday.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said the deadly Russian attacks in Ukraine, which, according to Kiev, have left dozens of people dead, are particularly shocking “”, a Guterres spokesperson broadcast. /rel
