The rivalry between English and Scottish is well - known. Despite being together in the United Kingdom, the two nations compete separately and even wish each other harm.
Now, with England in the Euro-2024 (this Sunday against Spain), the Scottishs (who were eliminated in the group stage) made the team they supported very clear. Evidence of this is the cover of The National, Blic Sport.
Every summer, they [tongues] fill your beaches. They all drink your beer. They defile your squares. They eat fried breakfast all day long instead of your wonderful food. They retire to your cities and benefit from your public services. They are not even interested in learning your language. Now, National says it's payback time! Our message to Spain: Save us from an English victory (or we will never hear the end of this!)” reads on the cover of the Scottish newspaper.
