Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to tears during the Portugal match against Slovenia at Euro-2024 and the last penalty note. He called it “inexplicable options”.
Ronaldo was in the negative role after losing several chances and penalties during the extra game and goal-free series so far in the champions. The 39-year-old burst into tears between two parts of the sequel and was comforted by fellow players. After the follow-up, however, he marked the first penalty as Diogo Costa received all three Slovenian penalties, and Portugal won 3:0 to switch to the quarterfinals.

Asked about the emotional outburst during the match, Ronaldo said that these moments are experienced when he thinks of his family.

Portugal will play in the quarterfinals with France, which won against Belgium. The quarterfinals will be played Friday in Hamburg.
Portugal's selector, Roberto Martinez, has praised Ronaldo after he received the ongoing penalty.
I was sure he would shoot first and open the way to victory”, he said.
