PDK seeks justice minister's resignation, interview at Special Prosecutor

Kosovo's Democratic Party Chiefship member Progress Gruda, today, through a media conference, has called for the justice minister's resignation and has called on the special prosecutor to immediately invite her into an interview to clarify her recent statements about the escapes of prisoners from [...] prisons.
“If Serbia is present in Kosovo prisons, what does the minister of justice do in its capacity? That's the fundamental question that raises every citizen today. This statement raises serious national security issues in the country and cannot remain unexplained”, Gruda has said.
Gruda has said that Kosovo's Correcting Service, as an executive security agency operating under the Ministry of Justice, is responsible for these cases.
This statement, for me and the Democratic Party of Kosovo, constitutes an act of surrender of the justice minister in the face of its obligations to the constitution, law and citizens of Kosovo. This is an unprecedented situation that shows incompetency, irresponsability and failure of Minister Haxhiu”, PDK chairmanship member has further said.
Furthermore, he has said it is a disaster that has so far come no answers, no measures and no responsibilities from the Ministry of Justice.
Kosovo's “citizens do not deserve such a justice minister, who except fails to deliver on any of the promises given, makes dissafistic statements damaging order and law in Kosovo”, Gruda has said.
Gruda, counting on all of the failures of Minister Haxhiu, has immediately called for her resignation from this position.
“After successive failures in all initiatives for justice, in vetoing, in reforming the prosecutorial council, in confiscating unwarranted property, drafting many laws contrary to Kosovo's constitution, and recently fleeing prisoners and its scandalous statements, in the name of the PDK I request the immediate resignation of Minister Hadziu, as a necessary act to pave the way for the return of security to Kosovo prisons and for much needed reforms in Kosovo <18x> Gruda has said.
According to him, Kosovo needs a new direction in the field of justice that will guarantee citizens security, law enforcement and the return of public confidence to the justice system.
