The Kosovo Assembly has adopted the new University of Pristina statute with 57 votes for, two against and two abstentions. In all, 61 MPs participated in the vote.
Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca announced that the new statute was passed with the majority of votes of MPs present.
“So with 61 MPs taking part in the vote, I found that Pristina University's Statuti” passes, Konjufca said after the vote.
The vote on the new statute was held in the presence of status deputies.
Among other things, the statute envisions a more decentralised office of the university, maintaining the responsibilities and managerial accountability towards the sector and deans, while on the other hand envisions a more influential academic role of the Senate and the advice of academic units.
