So his 131st match with the national, which ended with a loss of 1:2 after extra time in the quarterfinals of the European Championship against Spain, was the last match for Coach Julian Nagelsmann's team.
After eliminating Spain in Stutgart, Müller had declared: “looking realistically, it is possible that this was my last fight with the national. ”
Bayerni's attack star added: “I will sit with the national coach later. We have a very reliable relationship. But, as I said, that is realistically possible. ”

He has already played 131 matches (45 goals) and is third in the permanent list. Only Lothar Matthäus (63/150 matches) and Miroslav Klose (46/137 matches) have more.
Müller's greatest achievement: In 2014 he became world champion in Brazil, marking a total of five goals during the tournament.
