Kosovo with secure steps towards NATO, but away from membership

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, at the invitation of US President Joe Biden, has represented Kosovo in the concluding activity of the NATO Summit in Washington.

Attending this event of the largest military coalition in the world, the head of state has praised a particular importance for Kosovo.

However, the path to membership in the Atlantic organisation is looking long for majority deputies, despite positive steps.

“If Ukraine has been set a 10-year time for NATO membership I cannot say an exact time for Kosovo when it will be membership, even though Kosovo can naturally give its experiences in the area of demining and rescue search”, MP Arber Rexaj has said.

Kosovo is working well and membership in NATO, as it is hard to talk about because there are a series of procedures, but that we are on the good track”, Wessel has said.

The same estimates significant that the Kosovo Security Force is constantly increasing its capacities.

We are investing in the KSF, and there are new purchases of military equipment, what should happen or happen, even if we remain without money, then we should also ask our allies”, Wessel added.

The Kosovo Security Force often participates in activities and exercises inside and outside Kosovo, together with more NATO members.
