Kosovo will be represented by nine athletes in four different sports at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, which will be held from 26 July to 11 August in the French capital.
Kosovo's Olympic team is dominated by the judo sport as usual, as five jungles are part of the team, the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOK) announced.
The list tops Olympic champions, Judistria Krasniqi and Nora Gjakova, then three other jungles -- Laura Fazliu, Akil Gjakova and Loriana Kuka.
This is the third consecutive Olympics Kosovo aims to win gold medals, following Majlinda Kelmendi's historic debut in Rio 2016 in Brazil, when Olympic champion and gold medalist of Distria Krasniqi and Nora Gjakova in Tokyo 2020 was declared.
Krasniqi, along with Kelmendi and Nora Gjakova, are the only athletes, whether in the women's or men's sport, who have won Olympic gold in the history of Kosovo sports.
The other athletes who will represent Kosovo in Paris are Donjet Sadiku in Bosnia, Gresa Bakracaki in athletics, and Hannah Beiqi and Adwell Saboviq in swimming.
Hannah Beqiri, 14-year-old from Pristina, has been preparing for debut participation in the Olympic Games. She told Radio Free Europe years ago that she dreamed of participation in the Olympics.
The Summer Olympics are held every four years, and are estimated to be the most prominent race with many individual and team sports in the world.
Kosovo marked the debut in 2016 at the Rio Olympics in Brazil.
