Government: EU has all reasons to drop measures set

The Kosovo government said that the European Union has all the reasons to remove the measures imposed on Kosovo, as Kosovo, according to it, has met all requirements for desepting the situation in the country's north, returning the normalness and integration of Serbs there. Government spokesman Progress Kryeziu told RTV21 that they wish the EU countries' readiness would soon turn into action to remove these measures.
“We have welcomed the European Union's readiness to remove unjust measures against Kosovo. On April 22nd, on the occasion of completing the voting process for or against the departure of the mayors from office in northern Mitrovica municipalities, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviqi, regardless of the outcome, the Republic of Kosovo has fulfilled its obligation to its citizens and the responsibility taken by agreeing with the European Union for deregulation of the situation in the country's north. According to each parameter, the gap in four municipalities north of the country has already occurred. We recall that two of these four municipalities have women vice-presidents from non-Serb communities, with whom we have regular communication and co-operation as the Government. A large part of the directors in these municipalities are run by professionals from the Serb community. The process of converting plates to RKS has been successfully completed. Citizens have continued to provide documents from the Republic of Kosovo. Over 2/3 of the total number of applications for converting illegal drivers to those in the Republic of Kosovo have been registered in four municipalities in the north. As the next test of normality and integration. The European Union has all the reasons to remove the measures set. We wish their readiness will soon be turned into action to remove these” measures, Kryeziu said.
On the other hand, EU spokesman Peter Stano in a response to Ttv21 has said discussions on removing these measures are continuing.
The measures set by the EU towards Kosovo included: the temporary suspension of working groups for a Stabilisation and Association Agreement, Kosovo's failure at high-level meetings and the suspension of bilateral visits.
Also suspended was Kosovo's funding programming, which were meant to be delivered through the Western Balkans Investment Framework and IPA 2024 (Before Membership Instructions).
