United States President Joe Biden defended his rhetoric against former President Donald Trump in his first interview since the assassination against him on weekends.
Beden and Trump will face their November presidential elections.
Speaking to NBC, Beden said his campaign was tasked with speaking openly about threats that would bring a second mandate of Trump and added that his words are not the ones that should be softened.
However, he said it was “misspelled” that said it was “koha to put the Trump into the center of target”.
According to reports by Polytico, Beden made these comments in a conversation with several donors, a few days before the Trump assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13th.
In the interview given NBC's, Beden said he thought that his Democrats should focus more on Trump, his policies and false statements he made during a presidential debate last month.
During the interview, Biden made it clear that he would not withdraw from the presidential race, despite several members of his party calling to do so because of his poor performance in that debate.
I understand why people say: God, he's 81. Whoa! What will be done when he is 83, 84 years old? - It's a legitimate question that becomes”, Biden said.
He added that he trusts voters who supported him in the preliminary democratic elections. “I hear them”, Biden said.
In a speech from the Oval Office on July 14th, Beden condemned the attack against Trump and called on Americans to take a step back”, saying that “political rhetoric in this country has heated up a lot”.
Trump was injured in his ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13th.
A spectator was killed by the shooting, while two others were seriously injured.
Suspected attacker Thomas Crooks, 20, was shot and killed by the Secret Service, but his motive remains unclear. /rel
