Educators have called on the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation that textbooks supply for 2024-2025 for primary school students do so before September 1st, so the new school year does not find students without books.

Experts, Youth Qehaja and Silver Osmani, have said that subsidising parents for buying textbooks last year has spread many problems and has not been effective.

Qehaja has said subvention through the e-Kosovo platform has not been sufficiently witnessed as efficient, as not all parents and students have applied on time.

According to him, if the Ministry decides that I will repeat the same method this year, then the platform will be open to subvention immediately in mid-July so that students and publishing houses have the right time for preparation.

“Subvention through the e-Kosovo platform, at the end of the day, has achieved the same goal of distributing textbooks. Was he scattered at the right time? Of course not, I'd like to, and I'd very much hope that this year if it's set up for this modulation, then the platform will be open to subvention immediately in mid-July, so students, publishing houses, bookers have the right time to prepare. But if the same comes back to us and opens up for subvention in September then I don't know what that purpose will be. It has not been proven sufficiently as efficient, not all parents and students have applied in time, I remember that not all parents have the same awareness and commitment to timely application and insurance of textbooks, and most importantly there is an extraordinary logistics behind that any publishing house distributes their texts to every library in every city, this is the other difficulty that undoubtedly deserves attention”, he said.

He has said that their call is that the following weeks, no further than July 15th, will become known the form of distribution of books.

Our very important call is for the ministry to determine in the coming weeks so no later than July 15th what mode or shape they are wanting to distribute and start the immediate distribution of textbooks so we're aware that the ministry has adopted the catalog, this catalog has to go to professional activities, to schools, to schools. SHOW, start publication and immediate distribution. So there is no reason for delay or distribution of textbooks from September onward, textbooks should be in our schools before September 1st”, he said.

The education affairs acquaintance, Silver Osmani, has said that August should be careful not to repeat mistakes like last year.

He has said those problems should be avoided and a rational solution can be found so that citizens' taxes can be used rationally, but they can be provided to students with optimum learning conditions.

I think the Ministry of Education should reflect on and such decisions that are harmful to our society to avoid and try not to replay them, I think last year has spread many problems starting with the supply chain problems then with the distribution of tools to parents but also with the delay of providing children with books. Not to mention maybe the things that were speculated that some of your parents didn't even buy you and those tools haven't been used for government destination. So completely unnecessary problems that need to be avoided and should be found a rational solution so that our taxes can be used rationally for our children and provide them with optimum conditions for teaching”, he said.

Osman has called for August to make a decision as soon as possible on the matter.

Prepared measures must be taken, so it should be started earlier in considering these options.
