The Balkan team was launched into the first qualifying round of the Champions League, after being defeated by Santa Colomas, the team from Andorra.
Santa Coloma missed her first meeting in Andorra with a score of 1-2, as she arrived at Zeahir Pajazitiı and 120 minutes later with a score of 2-1, the match went to the penalty, where the Andorra champions were more accurate and passed through the round successfully, causing the Balkans a humiliating defeat.
While in Kosovo this loss is seen as severe, in Andorra it is taking pride in historic victory, as Santa Coloma won for the first time after 17 confrontations in the qualifying in Europe.
The president of the Andorra Football Federation, Flelix Alvarez, in an exclusive campaign for the Blic Sport newspaper, has suggested this is a huge victory, as the Balkans is a bigger club than Santa Coloma.
This victory is very important for Andorra football, against a professional team that we were not favored with. The Balkans have won Kosovo's league in the past three years and have a budget far higher than our club, so Santa Coloma”, Felix Alvarez first told Blic Sport newspaper.
“For Andorra football is a big success, and even more, after we won a rival from a powerful league, so Kosovo's, shows that we are growing up and that clubs are working well”, Alvarez continued.
Finally, the president of the Andorra Federation confirmed that their country's football is going a good way.
The “E expected with great joy, to see that the good work of clubs and Federation produces good results, shows that it is working well”, he concluded.
