A Ukrainian fighter plane has first fired a target inside Russia, a Ukrainian military source for Sky News has said.
The source said a <x0/Russian command line” was hit Sunday in the Belgorod area of western Russia, near the northeastern Ukraine border.
It was not clear what kind of ammunition was used in the attack, including whether or not it was a Western weapon.
The United States and France recently said the Ukrainian Armed Forces were allowed to use their weapons to strike military targets within Russia by which Russian forces are launching attacks against Ukraine.
Under new guidelines approved by President Joe Biden, American ammunition can be used on Russian soil to help protect Kharkiv's northeastern Ukraine
