Specialist gives Haradinaj the latest warning

The head of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague, Ekaterina Trendafilova, has warned Nasim Haradinaj to adhere to conditions defined on the sentence ruling, saying Haradinaj has conducted interviews in the media “without asking for a previous permit”.

In the media communiqué, Trandafilova said he has given Haradinaj the latest warning about this, adding that “any other violation would result in his immediate return to the” detention facility.

“The mayor explained that although the decision could be re-evaluated or modified immediately on the basis of violations, it ruled that Mr. Haradinaj gave a last warning, and made it clear that any further violations would result in his immediate return to the DHK's detention facility to suffer the remaining portion of the” sentence, the communique said.

Nasim Haradinaj was sentenced to 4 years and three months in prison by the Special Court in The Hague for intimidation during the criminal procedure and violations of the secret of the procedure.

He was released on parole in December 2023, after serving two-thirds of his sentence.
