Rassic expects no surrender of Radojic to Kosovo

A day after the failure of the meeting in Brussels between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, Minister for Communities and Kthim, Nenad Rassic, has said the dialogue must continue, until it has stressed that the EU is surprised at the prime minister's proposals, Albin Kurti.

Brussels needs plenty of time to analyse the three requirements Prime Minister Kurti laid out on Wednesday. That's how the Minister for Communities and Kthim, Nenad Rassic, is praising.

Rassic said the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia should continue, so that there are no other conflicts.

In that regard, I see that few are so surprised with these findings, as I said at the beginning, and I believe it takes a few days to analyze a little better and perhaps to reconfirm some form of initiative or continuation of dialogue. I mean, it's a personal thought, I always said, we have an old gray, “better negotiate 1000 days than fighting 1 hour”. So I accept a negotiation model and I've been very happy, that continuing to happen in early July”, Rassic said.

Asked about Prime Minister Kurti's request about the surrender of Milan Radojicic to Kosovo's justice bodies, the minister from the Serb community's ranks, does not expect anything like this in the coming months.

“As far as I know their ties, in Serbia, in particular in the regime, which is by chance in power in Serbia, I don't see it as possible in the coming months. In the coming months I don't see a real option”, he says.

Rassic has also talked about refusing to be part of the dialogue.

“Prime Minister Kurti has an idea from the moment we've been appointed, it's happened on December 1, 2022, where, according to his plan, I have come back to be part of the processing group, and in that respect a demand has been submitted as a proposal to the fascists, to Mr Borrell and Lajcak, to expand the technical negotiating group, but the other side has not accepted such a”, says the Minister for Communities and Kthhim.

According to Rassic, his failure to join the negotiating team will only bring problems in Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, and the integration of Serbs.

“Sic says Brooksley is up to the parties whether they will accept it or not, so the other side in this case has not accepted such a change, so that either I or we, we are out of the process, which is still a bad boomerang, not only for the design of politics and statutes, but also for the integration that we have so far without only negative influence in the negotiation process”, he has said to 1.

On June 26th in Brussels, Kurti refused to meet with Vuciqi, without the three requirements Serbia has yet to clarify whether they will be realised.
