QKUK saw special objects in treating brain - attack patients

The functioning of a particular centre in Kosovo for strokes is considered a necessary need by neurosurgeons and neurosurgeons.

Why this intervention is currently done at the Kosovo University Clinic Centre (QKUK), within some clinics, an object is estimated to be built for the Strok Centre, with special medical staff and equipment.

Frequent cases of brain - attack patients and limited time for intervention are among the reasons health professionals rank until they point to the importance of building such a center.

KKUK Neurology Clinic Director Edmund Comoni has said that under the clinic, a part for treating patients with strokes is divided.

We haven't completely created this center yet. But we're doing it, as an object I'm speaking physically, but the procedures that are necessary to the patient are being carried out. Along with the Emergency Clinic, Pristina City Emergency, to come patients and regional hospitals.

The main problem is time, usually we haven't achieved a European standard of early reaching patients at QKUK. It's good for therapy to apply for three hours, but results as often as they are best”, the Comon says.

Among other things, the Commission shows that intervention in brain - stroke patients is done through two methods, one with intravenous and other mechanical therapy, through the katheter.

As treatment is recommended to take place in the first three hours, following the attack, the Kosovo Commission for Kosovo Press stresses the fact that the entire health system must be organised so that patients can reach the clinic as soon as possible.

Progress in my specialization has been the treatment of strokes, which is the main cause of disability and the main cause of mortality. So, you know, maybe that stroke is not treated by interventive neuroradiologist and by an intervention called thrombectomy that means the fact to pull the trumpet into an intra-artial artery. We have to make six to eight hours of this intervention after the neurological deficit begins.

When a patient falls into a hemisphere, when he loses his ability to talk, we have six hours to intervene, so that the main point in my specialization would be that Kosovo would have a team that would have a centralizer in Pristina, and also have an organization that allows the admission of those patients at that time, which means that usually in France, we, the patient, the family, the patient's relatives, they don't call a doctor general, they call an emergency number where there's a doctor who gets a call and you can't tell him that your husband can't move, they're not going to be able to talk, they're experiencing a stroke, we're sending an ambulance, we're sending him from the hospital, we're taking him from the heart station, we're gonna get him to the heart station. So, technically, Kosovo will have to develop a centre next year for treating brain shock”, Houdart says.

The stroke, in addition to appearing on more frequent occasions in procrastinated age, affects young people. According to health professionals, stroke is considered when a person is in good health and suddenly has symptoms of vision, speech, weakness of strength, conscious disorder, and other associated symptoms.
