In the media their return was reported as a step to preserve mandates.
In this regard, Kosovo's Assembly has reacted through a Facebook post, arguing that not only the deputies of the Serbian List, but no MP would lose the mandate if it did not hold today's session.
“ ...No MP, including MPs from the ranks of the Serbian List, would lose the mandate if it did not hold today's session. MPs from the Serbian List ranks last time were listed as participants in the session on February 8th, 2024. Consequently, the same ones, based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Rule of the Parliament, would not end the mandates until early August...”It says post.
We remember there are ten MPs from the Serb community holding seats in the Kosovo Assembly. 9 of them are Serbian List deputies, meanwhile, tenth is from the Civic Initiative for Freedom, Justice and Survival.
The new MPs from the Serbian List had sworn in mid-November, before the 9 past resigned, following the Serb resignations from Kosovo institutions.
According to the Kosovo Constitution, the MP's mandate ends or becomes invalid if he is missing six months in a row at the Assembly hearings. /Periscope
