Merota has been appointed the new Inter president by the owners of the Oacktree Club, after serving as the general leader of the Nerrazzurs since 2018 after an eight-year period in Juventus.
“FC Internazeal Milan SpA announces today the proposed appointment of Giuseppe Marotta as the new president and the new composition of the Club Steering Board, which will be confirmed at a gathering of shareholders in Milan later today”, the notice is originally said.
The proposed “recommendations follow the latest change in ownership. On May 22, 2024, funds managed by the Oactre Capital Management, LP (“Oactre”) obtained ownership of the Inter after failing to repay the three-year Oactre loan for Interit/Interti/Interit/Ghox3> holding companies.
“As part of the Oktree focus on operational and financial stability for Inter, it has proposed the appointments of new members of the following Board:
Alejandro Cano, Europe's Director of Management and Co-director for the Oxford Global Options Strategy
Katherine Ralph, Director of Manager for the Oaktree Global Options Strategy
Renato Meduri, Senior Vice President in the Oaktree Global Options Strategy
Carlos Ligador, associate in the Oaktree global opportunity strategy
Raphael Nannan, Deputy High President at Oaktree's office in Luxembourg
Fausto Zanetton, director general of Tifosy Capital & Advisory
The new “Bord brings together expertise from all over Italy and Europe, including the Oaktree team that has partnership with the club since 2021. The new members of the Board will provide experience and skills that are essential for executing the long-term goals of Inter and achieving lasting prosperity, growth and success for the” club, the Inter communique closes.
The Inter won five trophies during the Merota stay at the club, including two Serbia A titles. A new era begins today for the Nezrazzurs and 67-year-old, one of the most experienced directors in Italian football.
