“Modric will stay for another season.” That is what Fabrizio Romano, the most reliable source of international football mercato, has made known. Modric (38) will stay at Reali for 13 years after joining the club from Tottenham in 2012 with a compensation of 35m euros.
Since then, he has become a legend of the greatest club and one of the best midfielders ever. Modric won everything with Real. Among other things, six European titles, four Spanish titles, and two Copa del Rey.
With 26 trophies, he's the most trophy player in the club's history. As a Real Player, he won the Golden Ball. He played 534 matches, scored 39 and scored 86 goals. The Croatian is loved by fellow players and fans, while in recent years due to delayed age, he has continued the contracts for only one season, the Blic Sport newspaper broadcasts.
During the season just over, Real's legend was mostly reserve (including the final of the Champions League, in which he received five minutes), but with a significant contribution, as a title and coming from the bench, to the Reali campaign. Although he was in the title formation for only 23 matches, he managed to score 2 goals and assist 8 of them.
Reale extended the contract to Modric just 25 days before the contract expired.
At the same time, clubs from America and Arabia lured Modric with luxury offers. Modric has decided where he wants to continue his career. So, no matter what the next season turns 39, retirement doesn't work.
He just wants Realy. He is so committed to the club that he agrees to continue being reserve and accepts half of the current salary, which is 21.8m euros gross annually. He's very happy at the club and Madrid.
