Greece's Ambassador to Serbia, Maria Levanti, has declared that Greece's stance on the issue of non-recognition of Kosovo remains unchanged.
She for the Belgrade newspaper “Politika” stressed that her country supports Belgrade's strategic goal of joining the European Union.
“I strongly believe that the EU, with its latest moves as the six billion-euro Western Balkans development plan, proves it aims to continue enlargement in the Western Balkan region, while at the same time the Balkan countries must capture the momentum that has now been created”, Levanti said.
According to her, the political relations between the two countries are “in an excellent level now and in the future”, adding that “contacts at the highest political and state level are frequent and the Fourth High Council for Co-operation” is expected to meet.
Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia are five European Union member states that recognise Kosovo independence
