A fan of England, who was photographed sleepy in the last round of “Three Lions” at Euro-2024, has said the picture was taken long before the start of the match. The photo of Fredie Hahn, who lives in Crawley, West Sussex, appeared on the front pages of several national newspapers after England's goalless draw against Slovenia on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old said he took advantage of the opportunity to take a nap after several beers in the sun, as he is rarely able to sleep at home, where he cares for a small child. He said he and his friends had arrived early at the stadium to set up their flag.
He said fans who want to set a flag should be “ploting crowd”, so his friends would arrive at the stadium three hours before the start of the match. “Gjumi was two and a half hours before the start of the match,” he added.
Hahn, who manages Crawley Davis in the Mid Susex League, said his fatigue was made of several beers, the sun and “after having a year-old son at home”. He wanted to create some peace and quiet wherever he could”, he said.
Hahn went to the same school in Crawley with the coach of England, Gareth Southgate. I understand some of the other fans who think he's a little boring sometimes,” he said. But as a local guy, I support him and I have some sympathy for him. ”
England faces Slovakia at the 16th stage of the tournament Sunday at 5:00 BST.
