The American Embassy in Tirana has been asked by the media today if this court ruling changes US reports with Sali Berisha and his grouping.
But in a firm answer, Ambassadors says:
Our “Possition regarding individuals declared ungrath remains unchanged: we do not engage in persons declared according to the authority of US sanctions and all should carefully consider how they work with individuals declared by the US”.
The US Embassy advises other political factors instead of carefully examining how they work with US-sponsored individuals.
US Embassy Declaration
Our position in relation to the non-married individuals remains unchanged: we do not engage in persons declared according to the authority of US sanctions, and all should carefully consider how they work with individuals declared by the US.
Our commitments with political actors will rely heavily on the commitment we share to Albania's Euro-Atlantic future, including rule of law and the fight against corruption.
As President Biden has repeatedly noted, fighting corruption is a matter of national security for the United States.
