Home arrest against two suspects in 47-year-old deaths that fell on elevator space in Prizren

The Theatre Court in Prizren has appointed the measure of house arrest to B.K. and H.K., in connection with the case of June 2024, where a 47-year-old woman had died in Prizren after falling into elevator space from the second floor.

In a response to “Justice Vow “, the Special Prosecutor's spokeswoman in Prizren, Victory Mehmeti, has confirmed that B.K (law person) and H.K. (the responsibility of the legal person) were sent to house arrest.

They are suspected to have committed criminal work “Disillusion, failure or removal of defence equipment” and “The risk of security at work”, Kankosova.tv.

“Referenced to your request for information, the Basic Prosecutor in Prizren informs you that in connection with the case, on the 2106.2024 order the prosecutor has been detained for 48 hours, two (2) persons, B. K., owner of the legal person, and H. K., person in charge of the legal person, due to reasonable suspicion that they committed criminal work “Investigation, damage or removal of protective equipment and risking security at work” by Article 358 paragraph 6, concerning paragraph 3 and paragraph 2 of the Republic of Kosovo's Criminal Code. The Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren, within the legal deadline, has submitted calls for the appointment of the detention measure. The Constitutional Court in Prizren, the high-ranking defendants, has assigned them the measure of house arrest”, said Mehmet's response.

Otherwise, Shacir Bytyqi, police spokesman for the Prizren region on June 20th 2024, had confirmed to “Justice bet” that the case had occurred around 20:50 and that the victim after falling into elevator space had failed to handle the wounds.

We inform you that by 20.06.2024, around 20:50 we received information about an injured person sent from Emergency to Hospital Emergency. After the patrol was engaged in the case, it has been confirmed that the case had occurred in Prizren, until the incident had come after the victim had called for permission to use it, the elevator door had been opened and the victim had fallen into the elevator space from the second floor, and therefore the victim had suffered serious bodily injuries” had confirmed Bytyqi.

He stressed that the victim has not been able to cope with the wounds and had passed away and that her death has been recorded by emergency doctors. /Betimy for Justice
