Government officials and mayors invite citizens who have not yet registered to do so.
There are still five days until May 17th, the date when the Kosovo census process, initiated on 5 April, ends.
Statistics Agency spokeswoman Hazbije Ceriqi speaks of the course of the process and the number of registered citizens.
The population registration process so far can be said to have gone well, with few challenges we've had during field work. We're going out with the new numbers tomorrow. But, in reference to the latest data we've obtained, there are over 1 million and 300 thousand citizens registered as residential populations and approximately 400,000 registered on e-diaspora platform”, she said.
The census is under way in all municipalities, although there is reluctance in the north for participation in the process. And all those who haven't been registered yet, the government says they can report for the recording.

The law on population registration, Family Economics and residences provides fines for all those who refuse to register or provide incorrect information. Physical persons can be fined up to 2 thousand euros, while those legals up to 20 thousand euros.
ASK spokeswoman questioned by Radio Kosovaif there's any case of fines pronounced for not recording. Curriqi said the ASS does not pronounce fines, but all those who refuse to register can be punished by competent organs.
Asked about the possibility of postponing the population registration process, Qariqi has said they have not thought so far and have no information about the possibility of extending the registration deadline.
The census call has also been made by the minister of finance, labour and transfers, Iron Murati.
“Pensions, additions of children, social policies, municipal budgets and many other decisions and policies will depend on this population census. It is imperative that each of us register in order to have accurate data and can make better policies”, the Murati wrote on Facebook.
