The chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, Lulzim Rafuna, says the country faces lack of workers, especially in recent months, following visa liberalisation.
Rafuna shows that among the sectors most affected by the shortage of workers are gastronomy and construction.
After visa liberalisation, there is a shortage of workers, but it is not highlighted because this challenge is over the past two years. With visa liberalisation a portion of those who have been able over the past two years with emigru have begun to move over the past few months. Among the sectors most affected by the lack of paws are gastronomy and construction, but not excluding the other sectors, but in these two sectors it is mostly stressed”, Rafuna said.
The chairman of the Economic Ode also says Kosovo is importing labour powers, but they, as he said, are not stable as they have claims to leave to European Union countries.
We have workers from other countries. We are importing labor powers from Bangladesh, Turkey and other countries, but the challenge lies there that business cannot be based on this workforce that we are running because the majority of them are coming, excluding the workforce that comes from Turkey, do not come with claims to stay in Kosovo long. They are only coming until they find an opportunity to flee to EU countries”, he said.
Rafuna pointed to the challenges business faces in Kosovo, emphasising the first, lack of public power.
Over the past few years, we can say that the challenge part, the lack of sea power. Then comes access to finance, third, to finding new markets. And then these other challenges that we have inside us, such as the rule of the Law take many contexts until they are resolved in the courts, then the education issue that is related to job market demands, health issues, and so on “, Rafuna for Front Online concluded.
